Services

The Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport is a Part 139 certified public use airport that is staffed by the Airport Operations department 24/7/365.

The airport maintains ARFF Index A certification 24/7, with up to ARFF Index C equipment and staffing available with prior arrangement. To enquire about ARFF availability, contact Airport Operations at (203) 907-9818.

Secure ramp access:

As of November 14th, 2019, the airport has implemented new TSA-required security procedures and access control for all individuals desiring access to the Airport Operations Area (AOA)

As a Part 139 certificated air carrier airport, Robinson Aviation must assure compliance with the following requirements:

  • Access to the general aviation areas is granted only to badged airport employees, tenants, and pilots displaying a current airport-issued security badge.

  • Pilots who display a TSA-compliant security badge may access the portion of the AOA on and in which their aircraft is currently receiving services from the Fixed Base Operator only.

  • Access to the general aviation areas by any other individuals not duly badged must be accompanied by a pilot displaying a TSA-compliant security badge or be under the direct escort of a badged Robinson Aviation employee.

Robinson Aviation staff will check the identification of all individuals requesting ramp access, and perform challenges to all persons on the AOA who are not properly displaying secure identification. Any individual who fails to display a proper badge issued by the Tweed-New Haven Airport or other TSA-complaint security identification shall be asked to exit the AOA and be reported to Airport Operations. See the front desk if you require access to the ramp.

If you are a hangar or tiedown tenant, stop by the front desk to pick up an airport badging application. Robinson Aviation is no longer allowed to provide escorts to such persons and access will be denied without an airport badge.

After hours access:

Due to new airport security requirements, anyone wishing to access the General Aviation ramp after Robinson Aviation is closed will be unable to do so unless they possess an airport-issued or TSA-compliant security badge. Pilots requiring ramp access to their aircraft after hours who do not posses either of these identification credentials must arrange after-hours services with Robinson Aviation or shall not have access to the AOA. Robinson Aviation is no longer permitted to give out any gate codes, and Airport Operations will not provide after-hours escort services.

If you require access to the general aviation ramp after-hours, please call Robinson Aviation to arrange services.

We apologize for the inconvenience this causes, and appreciate your understanding as we comply with these new TSA mandated security procedures.
